Your ARC app

How to log in, put it on your phone, and use it week to week. Your sessions, your program, your scores and your handicap all live here.

Logging in

There's no password to remember. We email you a link, you tap it, you're in.

  1. Go to the Member Login page (arcgolfperformance.co.uk/portal).
  2. Type in the email address you gave us and tap Send me a login link.
  3. Open the email called Your ARC dashboard login link and tap the link inside.
  4. Tap Log in to my dashboard on the page that opens. That extra tap is deliberate: it stops email security scanners from using up your link before you do.
Good to know

Each link works once and expires after 15 minutes. Once you're in, you stay logged in for about a month on that device, so you won't need to do this every time.

Put it on your phone

Add the app to your home screen and it opens full screen, with its own icon, like any other app. It takes about 30 seconds and there's nothing to download from an app store.

This is your phone

iPhone or iPad

Use Safari (it won't work from other browsers).

  1. Open arcgolfperformance.co.uk/portal.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
This is your phone

Android

Use Chrome.

  1. Open arcgolfperformance.co.uk/portal.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots, top right).
  3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen) and confirm.
Logging in on the app for the first time

The app keeps its own login, separate from your browser, so you log in once inside it. The link in the email will open your browser, not the app, so use the code instead: after you request a link, the "Check your email" screen has a box for a 6-digit code. Type in your email and the code from the same email, and you're in.

Turn on notifications

Get a buzz when your coaches message you, book a session or update your program, instead of having to check.

  1. Open the app from its home screen icon. On iPhone, notifications only work this way, not from Safari, and you need iOS 16.4 or newer.
  2. Tap Turn on notifications in the banner at the top.
  3. Tap Allow when your phone asks.

What you'll be told about:

  • A new message from Matt or Sam
  • A session being booked, moved or cancelled
  • Your program being updated, or your first program being ready. You get one notification a few minutes after your coach stops editing, not one for every change.
  • A new check-in from your coach, if your plan includes check-ins
Private by design

Notifications only say something like "New message from Sam". They never show what the message says, so nothing personal appears on your lock screen. A red number on the app icon counts what you've missed and clears when you open the app.

What's on each screen

The top bar is how you move around. Tap any name to switch screen.

Dashed tabs show only if they're part of your plan.

Dashboard

Your home page. It shows your next session with a countdown, any notes from your coaches about your programme, your current handicap, your latest rounds, your personal best, your averages, and where you stand on this month's leaderboard.

If your plan has a monthly group call, the Join on Zoom button is here too.

At the bottom, Refer a friend has your personal link. Copy it or tap Share to send it to someone. When they get in touch through it, we know it came from you. The card shows how close you are to your referral reward, a free month at the next package up.

Sessions

A calendar of your coaching sessions. Days with a session have a dot: tap the day to see the time, the coach, the format and what the session covers.

Under the calendar, each session has an Add to calendar link that puts it in your phone's own calendar. Need one booked or changed? Message us.

Program

Your training to-do list for the day. More on this below.

Handicap

Your current handicap, a chart of how it's moved, and where you record changes. Details below.

Scores

Log every round you play and see your averages. Details below.

Profile

Your photo, phone number, date of birth, home club and WHS number. Your name and email are fixed here: message us if either needs changing.

Messages

A direct line to Matt and Sam. Details below.

Check-ins

Send your coaches swing or lift videos and get their feedback back. Details below.

At the far end of the top bar is Log out.

Doing your training

The Program tab is your to-do list. It opens on today.

  • Use the arrows at the top to move to the next or previous day, or Today to jump back.
  • The Coming up calendar at the bottom has a dot on every day with training. Tap any day to open it.
  • Habits (if your coach has set some) are simple tick-boxes for the day.
  • Tap a workout to open it. On the list you'll see 2/5 done, then Complete once every item is ticked.
  • Tap Recent updates from your coach to see what's changed in your program lately.

Strength and conditioning workouts

Each exercise shows the sets, reps, RIR (reps in reserve, meaning how many more you could have done) and rest your coach wants. Tap Watch demo if there's a video. Then:

  • Type your weight (in kg) and reps for each set.
  • Beside each box, a small last: note shows what you did last time, so you know what to beat.
  • Use + Add set or + Add warm-up to add rows, and the × to remove one.
  • Tap Save to store your sets, and tick the exercise when it's done.
  • The Notes box is for how it felt or anything you changed. Your coach can read it.

Example: logging a set

Warm-up
40last: 40kg
8last: 8
Working set
60last: 57.5kg
8last: 8

Golf workouts

  • Drills: read the description and set-up (there's often a photo), tap Watch demo if there is one, do the drill, tick it off and add a note on how it went.
  • Your video: under a drill, tap Upload video to film yourself doing it. Your coach can watch it. To swap it for a better take, tap Replace video.
  • Games: some workouts include a scored game, with instructions to open. The putting ladder is a grid of distances where you tap a button for each putt. The chipping game keeps a list of attempts: tap + Add attempt, then pick the slope and where the ball finished. Points and streaks are worked out for you.

Tip

Everything saves as you go: ticking a box, leaving a notes field, tapping a putt result. Set rows are the exception, so tap Save after you enter them.

Logging a round

Log every round you play, however it went. It powers your averages, your personal best and the leaderboard.

  1. Open the Scores tab and find Add a round.
  2. Pick the date and enter your gross score. Those two are all you have to fill in.
  3. Add the extras if you have them, then tap Add round.
  • Date
  • Gross score
  • Course
  • Par
  • Playing HCP
  • Net score
  • Stableford
  • Holes: 18 or 9
  • Front or back 9
  • Tee
  • Notes
  • Course: start typing the club's name and pick it from the list that appears. If it isn't listed, just type it in.
  • 9-hole rounds: choose 9, then say whether it was the front or back nine.
  • Competitions: tick This was a club competition, and I won it if you did. Wins are counted on your dashboard.
  • Notes: good for the things you'll want your coach to see, like "front 9 in 39, three-putted twice on the back".
Made a mistake?

Tap any round in your list to open it. Change what you need and tap Save, or tap Remove to delete it.

At the top of the page, Last 30 days shows your gross, net and Stableford averages. Above your list you can filter by competition rounds or by course.

Your handicap

Keep this up to date so your coaches always see where you really are.

  • When your handicap changes, open the Handicap tab, type the new number and tap Register change. It's added to the chart with today's date.
  • Got history from before you joined? Use Add an older entry: pick the date, enter the handicap and your chart will show the whole story.
  • Fix an entry: under History, tap the entry, then change the date or number and Save, or tap Remove.
  • WHS / CDH number: add it under Profile. Your dashboard then gives you a shortcut to your official handicap on the England Golf site.

Messages and check-ins

Messages

Open Messages and choose who to write to: Matt, Sam, or Either if you don't mind who picks it up. Type your message and tap Send. Replies appear in the same thread, and with notifications on, your phone lets you know. It's the quickest way to ask a question, or to book or change a session.

Weekly check-ins

If your plan includes them, Check-ins is where you send your coaches a video during the week: a swing for your golf coach, a lift for strength and conditioning.

  1. Find the section for the coach you're sending to (Golf or Strength & Conditioning).
  2. Choose a video from your phone. Add a note if there's something you want them to look at.
  3. Tap the Upload button. Your coach reviews it and posts their feedback right back on the same page, as a video or audio clip.

Use the arrows at the top to look back at earlier weeks, or This week to return.

If something's not working

My login link says it's expired

Links work once and last 15 minutes. If yours has been used or timed out, go back to the login page and request a fresh one.

I didn't get the login email

Check your spam or junk folder, and make sure you typed the same email address you gave us when you joined. For security, the page looks the same whether or not the address is on our system, so a mistyped or different address just won't receive anything. If you still can't get in, ask Matt or Sam.

The link opened my browser instead of the app

That's expected. Go back to the app, request a link there, and use the 6-digit code from the email on the "Check your email" screen. See Put it on your phone.

I'm not getting notifications

Work down this list:

  • iPhone: make sure you're on iOS 16.4 or newer and opening the app from the home screen icon, not Safari.
  • Open the app and look for the Turn on notifications bar. If it's there, tap it and choose Allow.
  • Check your phone's settings: Settings, Notifications, find the ARC app and make sure notifications are switched on.
  • Check Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them.
I can't see Messages, Check-ins or the Zoom call

Those depend on your plan. If you think you should have one of them, ask Matt or Sam.

My name, email or a session is wrong

We manage those for you. Send a message from the Messages tab and we'll sort it.

How do I log out?

Tap Log out at the end of the top bar. Do this if you're on a shared or borrowed device.

Still stuck? Send Matt or Sam a message from the Messages tab, email arcgolfperformance@outlook.com, or ask us at your next session.
